Editorial Independence Statement
Journal of Biomedicine and Biochemistry (JBB) is committed to upholding the principles of editorial independence, integrity, and academic freedom. Editorial decisions are made solely on the basis of scholarly merit, scientific rigor, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope, without influence from the journal’s owner, publisher, sponsors, advertisers, or any other external parties.
Editorial Authority
The Editor-in-Chief holds full and final authority over all editorial decisions, including the acceptance, revision, or rejection of submitted manuscripts. These decisions are based exclusively on the outcomes of the peer-review process and the journal’s editorial policies.
Separation of Editorial and Administrative Roles
The journal maintains a clear separation between editorial decision-making and administrative, financial, or commercial activities. The ownership and management bodies do not interfere with the editorial evaluation, peer-review process, or publication decisions.
Protection from External Influence
Editors and editorial board members are protected from any pressure or influence that may compromise editorial independence. Any attempts to exert undue influence on editorial decisions are not tolerated and will be addressed in accordance with the journal’s ethical policies.
Conflict of Interest Management
Editors and reviewers are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest. Editors with a conflict of interest related to a manuscript will recuse themselves from handling the submission, which will then be reassigned to an independent editor.
Ethical Oversight
The journal adheres to internationally recognized standards of publication ethics, including the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). Editorial independence is a fundamental component of the journal’s ethical framework.
Transparency and Accountability
All editorial policies, procedures, and decision-making frameworks are publicly available on the journal’s website to ensure transparency and accountability to authors, reviewers, readers, and indexing bodies.
